What We Do

  • manage funds for people interested in philanthropy, who want the flexibility and convenience of our fund options and the greatest tax advantages available.
  • connect donors to the causes they care about by providing education and information, establishing links with others, and offering specialized services.
  • promote lifelong philanthropy, providing education and programming to encourage advanced, sophisticated approaches to charitable giving that yield the most effective results.
  • provide innovative grants and other assistance to nonprofit organizations throughout our service area.
  • stay abreast of the latest trends in giving, grantmaking, and nonprofit management and provide valuable information to the community.
The Value of Crossroads Community Foundation

Crossroads serves a large population of 550,000, with local needs and local wealth, an active and engaged nonprofit community, and a growing sense of regionalism.

We formed our community foundation because:

  • we found the local needs of our region were growing and significant, but scattered and difficult to serve;
  • our region was not receiving much support from the Boston or Worcester foundations;
  • local nonprofit organizations and agencies were experiencing significant reduction in funding;
  • philanthropic dollars were generally flowing out of our area.
To learn more about how Crossroads is investing in our communities and meeting community needs through its grantmaking program, and funds, see our 2006 Annual Report.
